Title: Q for stealthers running 460/480's
Post by: jhirte on March 22, 2004, 01:43:34 PM
SO I wanna run these for Ozz fest... was thinking of coming up with a way to mount them in a hat or something.. any of you guys ever run them with full bodies in a hat ?
If so, how'd you mount em ? was thinking velcro or something to hold em in place... ?

Gonna be picking up an Aerco MP2 to run with em - > D8.....

with the XLRs, those mics are going to be close to 7-8 inches long...not sure there is a "stealthy" way to hide mics that long in a hat...

Who's got my favorite foam hat pic?
Yay, I can hope for a good non-Shoreline Ozzfest tape now.

That does the job, Lee! Those horns are butter.
Anyone else watch bull riding on TNN?

i pulled off stealthing with 480s a couple times but there really isn't a good way to mount them.  if you're using standard xlr connectors they end up being about 7- 8 inches long, so you might want to think about making a set of cables with right angle connectors because they'll save you about an inch or an inch and a half.  i ended up running a-b in a baseball hat with two holes cut out for the caps to stick out, you could try doing din or another configuration but having the mic cables come out the side of the hat rather than the back is a bit more obvious.  my hat was black so once it got a little dark it didn't look too obvious but it certainly wasn't uber stealthy either.

You can try to hand hold them.
