Title: CA14 want to buy a clip

I have CA14 omni and cards and I want to buy the clips for them.
Does anyone have a link they could supply for them?

Post by: mysticeyes on December 20, 2012, 07:26:14 AM: I've no idea which clips Chris Church uses on them, but when I had clipless C14's I got AT8460's to fit them. Those worked fine if I put one layer of gaffer tape around the back end of the mics, so I didn't have to deal with the annoyance of having permanently mounted clips. I have looked online and there are so many choices and dimensions don't want to order and find out it is the wrong one.

Was hoping someone went down this route already?

PS: When I had them made chris was suppose to mount the clips and it did not happen. So I asked chris about a year + ago and he said to ask on the forums for the non-permanent ones.

Lets see I stealth with them do not want clips due to the way my rig is set up.

Then when I open tape sometimes with 8 channels I want to take 2 of chris mics and see what they sound like compared to the 6 sources. So sometimes I want them to clip on to something other times I like how small they are due to I cut holes in fabric and the smaller diameter the better. When I mount them in my stealth rigs they go in backwards...not mic first.

I have custom stealth rigs for each mic set...

Oh that makes sense. I only ask because I use the clips for both >:D and open. If you are curious don't hesitate to PM me but sounds like you have a pretty sufficient setup yourself.

These clips are discontinued. Does anyone know where I can get some clips [prefer rotating) for the ca-14 mics that fit tightly. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I've never done any stealth taping, but when I had CAFS's, I made a stand mount for them by cutting and shaping a length of coat hanger material with pliers. The contraption in this picture will place two capsules 32cm apart with an angle of 90 degrees between them (the "Onno Stoltze" config). I inserted the metal inside some small aquarium tubing to give it enough girth to fit tightly inside that plastic mount, which originally came with a cheap camcorder mic; I also wrapped bits of gaff tape around the ends to prevent them from scratching the other stuff in my gear bag. I also made a bar with 42cm of separation, and yet another one, about 8 inches or 20cm long, but straight through so that the mics would point in opposite directions. I'm sure more elegant solutions can be assembled from fibeglass rods, etc., but the materials I used were easily obtainable with a five minute search around my house. To attach the mics, I simply used rubber bands or a little piece of Blu Tack :).
