Hey now,
Looking for other options than the supplied dpa ortf/xy mount that comes with the 4021's so that I can run some other configurations. Ideally I'd like a mount that will still allow me to use windscreens. I've hear of other tapers using the rycote inv3 but I don't think screens will work with those shock mounts. The dpa mounts are too pricey at $250 a pair. Sennheiser mkh8000 series are also 19mm and are $180 a pair.
Curious before I drop that kind of cash on mounts if anyone here has tried them with dpa4021's ??
Regards,
Jim

Those Sennheiser mounts are absolutely horrible - it's the only bad bit of the MKH 8000 line.
I told them that when they first came out.
Definitely a Rycote INV mount is the best option.
I have several MKH 8000 series and use mine with the Rycote INV-2 (head only) or INV-3. No problem with using the windshield.
The INV-6 and INV-7 and INV-7HG (new type) are also good

^ Second John on the Rycotes. Great option for 4021s. That Senn mount looks awful. The Rycotes aren't cheap, but they're still half what DPA mounts are. And much more versatile.

Third on the Rycotes. I've been using them for several months and they are great.

yep, +1 for the Rycote INV-2 and INV-3!

Another vote for the Rycotes, they're stealth, strong and simple. Here is a link showing how I run them on individual lyres which can be had at B&H for only $13:

Good luck and go Team DPA ;D

Glad I didn't spend the $$ in the sennheiser mounts, looks like rycotes win hands down. Thanks to everyone that replied.
