So I'm driving to Toronto tomorrow to tape the Dream Theater show at Massey Hall, and I did a quick test of my gear to make sure all batteries were charged and everything was working... and I found out the right mic capsule of my SP-BMC-1s wasn't getting any audio... so I started freaking out. I was planning on ditching these mics any day anyways, but I didn't want to be left with nothing to tape the show.... so I took drastic measures. I busted into the capsule and found that one of the wires had broken off its solder point... so I soldered it back up, and electrical taped the HELL out of the whole capsule... plugged everything in and she purrs like new.... I might just be able to tape this sucker after all... and immediately after, I'm saving up to get some new mics.. hahaha... How's this for a last minute crisis avoidance... wow.. I'm still shaking... peace.

Good save!
I always carry my small butane powered soldering gun with me when I tape. I've never had to use it (knock on wood) but just in case.
