Title: Your Favoured Mic and Mic Positioning for Classical Guitar?
Post by: rojarosguitar on April 08, 2013, 12:47:50 AM
Hello,
what is your favoured mic and mic position for classical guitar?

I'm experimenting with Royer SF-12 at the moment, which is the most naturally sounding mic for CG I have tried until now.
I'm still not sure about optimal positioning, though.

best

I swear I read on gearslutz that the optimum was around 18 inches away and about 3-4 inches right of the sound hole toward the fret board (for general acoustic guitar). They would be a better resource in some regards for that if you can't find a good answer here.
