Might record the WSP / ABB streams tonight. Is there any point in recording this to wav? There's no way that stream would benefit from more than 320 mp3? Just curious.

I do streams in wave at 24 bit. only for editing purposes though. if you do need to edit, better to have it in wave than mp3.

A little off topic here, but I have noticed recently that the GD channel on SiriusXM sounds horrible. Are they just streaming highly compressed MP3s on that channel 24/7? I can barely stand to listen to it it bothers me so much. It sounds far worse than the normal compression of a FM broadcast. I thought satellite was supposed to sound better?

^ Actually it's about right on topic. I would never pay for SiriusXM but have a login for the internet radio. the bitrate on the internet radio if i'm not mistaken is lower than on a physical radio. even a radio has the compression as well. one of the reasons I don't pay for Sirius XM. If you look around google it looks like they vary the bitrate based on traffic resulting in lower quality at certain times in certain places. The 14.99/month for internet radio only on their site is pretty funny.

I have Sirius included with my car free for a year, but I cannot imagine paying for it. Maybe the home receiver systems sound better???

Got 6 months free with my car and the horrible compression is one of the reasons why I didn't buy in after the trial period. Also seems like no matter what station you listen to, they play the same stuff all the time anyways, so really could never see paying for it either.
