Title: strange wave file

I recorded Maceo Parker at Wanee last weekend using Dpa 4023 > Oade m148 > line in R09hr, and I got this strange looking wave file, which is attached.  Anyone have any idea what happened?

How does it sound?

Are the non-horn parts also asymmetrical?

Horns are notorious for producing asymmetric waveforms.  Seeing some of this is not unexpected.  Though this examle looks a little extreme.  It's hard to tell if there is a problem, but it does seem to have offset issues even in the more quiet parts.

Doesn't look like wind, which causes some fuzzy looking lines.

Looks level limited on only the negative voltage swings.

Only had it happen that one set?
Batteries in the brick in good shape?

I've had similar looking waveforms that were caused by preamp power issuses.

11's on target, How's it sound?

Alex was there, no? was his wind causing funny looks in the front lines?

This was at the ampitheatre Saturday so no wind.  I also recorded the Dirty Dozen with the same results. 

The sound is distorted, and this is the first time I have used the m148, it could be the battery but I am not sure.  The m148 puts out a fixed signal so I did have the r09 cranked.  Could this just be an overloaded recording. 

I've just never seen a wav file look like that.

I had that happen last year when I used my Busman BSC2's. I sent them back to Busman and they were fine after that. Never knew what caused it tho ???
