Hi everyone, I have been looking for some external battery for Roland R-44 or R-26. I have searched online extensively but cannot find any definitive answer. I am looking for some battery pack that is ready to go without the need to do any modification on the cable. Since R-44 and R-26 use reverse polarity, the center pin of the plug is negative.
I highly appreciate any input. Thanks a lot.

Not sure if this will work or not, but I just scored one of these for my Tascam DR-680. It comes with a lot of attachments.

I realize you are looking for an "out of the box" solution, but should you not find one, it is likely that Ted (tgakidis) can make a cable for you. I buy all my cables from him, he's good people.

You might want to check out this battery it is straight 9v so no messing around with anything for the correct voltage and it does but out 2 amps. I like that they rate it at the 9v output to give you a honest idea on how long it will last. You would need to get a reverse polarity cable made .

You could also get one of these to power that and other devices:

It's fairly light and compact for a portable power source.

i use the Battery Geeks 9/12-66 (http://www.thebatterygeeks.com/BG-9-12-66-Portable-DVD-Player-Battery-p/9-12-66.htm) with my R-44 and love it. it has a 9v and a 12v setting via a switch on the back of the battery. the R-44 will run on either the 9v or 12v setting with no difference in performance. it's also pretty light and doesn't take up much space in the bag.
i also recently picked up a Bixnet BP160 (http://www.bixnet.com/unpowbat.html), but haven't used it in the field as of yet. it has a 12v and a 19v switch on the top so it's compatible with the R-44 on the 12v setting. the 19v setting can be used to charge your laptop (if that's a desirable option for you). the Bixnet holds a lot more juice than the Battery Geeks 9/12-66, but the Bixnet is also HUGE and will take up a lot more space in your bag.
the Tekkeon MP3450 could also be a good option (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/503090-REG/Tekkeon_MP3450_MP3450_myPower_ALL_Universal.html). it has multiple power options from 5v to 19v, but some recorders (i.e. Tascam DR-680) don't play nice with the Tekkeon. i've never used mine with the R-44 so i don't know if there have been any issues. i primarily use my Tekkeon to power my Aerco MP-2 on the 7.4v or 9v settings and it works great. i have also found that the Tekkeon is great for powering my vaporizer ;D at shows, so it is definitely a versatile battery.

a brief update regarding the Bixnet battery... i powered my R-44 this weekend with the Bixnet set to 12v to see how long it would last with a full charge. this test was done using a stereo pair of mics (ck5 > 451eb) connected directly into the R-44 (channels 1 and 2, +48v phantom power provided by the R-44). the R-44 was set to record at 16 bit/44.1 kHz with a 32gb SD card so i would not run out of storage space. total runtime was 28 hours and 21 minutes. not too shabby. ;)
i'm going to run the same test today with a Battery Geeks 9/12-66.
