Title: Best way to Document M10 lineage?

Greetings.
I recently got an M10 and ran it for the first time this past weekend.
It now comes to me writing down/keeping track of the lineage.  I used to have a D8 and would do something like mic->rolloff->d8 @44.1 khz for example.
The M10 how would I do this for the M10?  mic->rolloff->M10 (then mode?  Like LPCM 44/24?  Is it needed to be that clear etc?

Thank you for your thoughts/opinion.

I'd either do mic>etc>M10 (24/48) or, as I do, Mic>etc>M10>24bit/48kHz WAV>processing etc>FLAC

Thanks much.  I've heard some of your stuff so you'd suggest 24/48?  I am new to the device so of course toggling for my needs will come, but always like a good springboard.

Thats what I do. I have a separate transfer line in mine.

One thing is, I state the bitrate where the ADC was:

4021 > V3 > 722 (24/44.1)
4021 > V3 (24/44.1) > 722

Those lines tell me something different. I only see a couple others do that, and it's personal preference.

Depends on what you want to achieve (what's the final end result, do you have a good resampling algorithm, etc). Most here use either 24/44.1 or 24/48 and resample later if they need a CD Audio compatible output.

I definitely like 24/48.
Less and less does anyone need CD, and those that do can resample their own with just about any burning software (nero, itunes, toast).

I agree that the bit depth / sample rate should be listed with the ADC stage. If there's resampling, be sure to list the final output's depth/rate so downloaders will know what they're getting. On a high-def recording, if the metadata doesn't mention resample/ bit reduction, I usually assume that it has not been resampled or reduced.
