Title: New AV receiver with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth
Post by: StuStu on May 20, 2013, 01:29:40 PM
I'm surprised this hasn't been done yet. It'll stream FLAC, DSD, 24/96, etc. Surely other manufacturers will follow. I'm not familiar with the company.

looks like integra is onkyo's higher end brand -- see, e.g. http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=191997

Cool AV unit...

....I'm not familiar with the company.

Back in the 1990's Integra was a subdivision of Onkyo...Appears to be promoted as it's own brand now, but I assume there continues to be a relationship between them...

Might be a nice receiver, but not necessarily new tech.  I installed an Onkyo HT-RC360 at my dad's place back in fall 2011 that was wifi enabled and could stream 24bit FLACs over wireless from a NAS or USB.  I believe that receiver was sub $400 at the time.

I'll have a brand new 30.5 in my hands to play with this week..... 40.5 and 50.5 to follow soon. I can't remember exact release dates on the 40 & 50 but I got the press release last week.

Denon has supported FLAC decoding on it's higher end receivers for over 5 years

Their current models support upto 24/192khz

I have an AVR-3808 that worked ok w/ FLAC but not so well when I threw 500gb of my cd collection at it

Now I run a dedicated media pc for FLAC/DSD playback via Foobar 2000

I got one of these Logitech Bluetooth receivers that I hooked up to my system for when I don't feel like flipping records. I'll use it when I'm streaming music via Google Music on my tablet. Obviously you take a little bit of a hit in the sound dept. but worth it when you're cleaning the house, having a party, etc.

I've been planning on setting up an old desktop to hook up to the sound system to play FLAC files. Just been too busy lately though.
