Ok, it's been a long time since I've visited or posted...
So I would like to send my Neumann skm140s in to be served and looked at by Sennheiser. When I fill out the online description and details it gives me a $1240 pre authorized amount repair quote. Is this just to cover the worst case scenario?
What should I expect? I think I might have issues with a capsule or just the cable. Any advise?
Thanks

Terence, send a pm to OldNeumannTapr. Someone just kicked his mics over and he sent his in and he is in Cali too. I think down on the central coast...

I just sent my Schoeps in to Redding Audio after they got kicked over in Felton and they asked for an open credit card number which seems kind of scary...

Firstly - what country are you in?
Secondly - I would ring the Sennheiser service department in your country, stating the problem and asking for an estimate.
The SKM is a stereo set, so any repair would need both mics and is likely to be more expensive as the mics will need to stay matched.
