anybody run the akg c426b? since it is LD, has any one compared it directly to a high-end pair of SD mics, like schoeps cmc64s, dpa 4011s, akg c480s? surely the LD caps dont have as good off axis response, but perhaps the larger caps add some "flavor" that the smaller caps do not provide? opinions? experiences?

I ran the c422, the predecessor to the 426 for a long time. I've comparred it directly to all types of SD quality condensors.
it rocks, though a tad sluggish from a distance (LD affect, me thinks). Wonderful soundstage.
I'm using a c34 now, the SD version...its like a "minime" of the 426.
no comparrison sound wise to the cmc64. i'm not saying "better or worse", i'm just saying its not apples and apples.
