Hi guys,
Any suggestions on what clamps or whatever to secure a gakbrella? The ones Ted makes.
Thanks

If the gakbrella doesn't have a threaded fitting the Windtech MPC-10 (http://www.wind-tech.net/Clamps.php), aka Windtech C clamp, works very well.

The Windtec works great.
The Claw by Latin Percussion is pretty nifty too. What I like about it is the fact that the umbrella can be angled. I've had situations were there was light rain and even though I had an umbrella, there was just enough wind to sort of "push" the rain up, and under the umbrella.
Doesn't happen all that often, but I like to be prepared for anything when it comes to taping outdoors...

You will need a 5/8 to 3/8 adapter for the Wintech to GakBrella...that is the combo I use...

Ted can supply one with your order.

So one cannot just insert the shaft/handle of the gakbrella into the hole of the Windtech and then tighten the thumbscrew on the shaft?

There is a 3/8 20 thread socket on the bottom of the Gakbrella that is created by a 1/2 hex bolt that is about an inch long...I don't think it will go thru the Wintech...I've not tried to tighten down on the bolt/shaft

the first shot is a totes umbrella that I cut the handle off of and it fits the windtech hole nicely

the next shot I put a 3/8 adapter on the windtech 5/8 pin to mount the gak

Darby...did you put anything inside of the shaft of the Totes to keep it from crushing? Or is it solid at the bottom?
Flip...the Gakbrella will not go thru the hole on the Windtech.

no I just used a saw on it, and no it is not solid
