Title: DVD Arch & torrent question
Post by: PhxHorn on June 18, 2013, 04:14:58 PM
A couple of dumb questions here, but I can't seem to find the answers anywhere else.

1.  When preparing and burning a Blu-Ray DVD, how to I get DVD Arch to burn directly to a hard drive?  I'm not looking for an .iso file.    I'm new to the Blu-Ray format, and so I'm used to being able to burn the VIDEO_TS folder to my hard drive, though I was using Nero previously.   I guess I could burn the Blu-Ray to BD-R and then copy the relevant folders to my hard drive, but it seems like there should be a more efficient way.   Are some of the folders not necessary?

2.  How do you prepare a Blu-Ray torrent for Dime?   I've looked through the FAQ and wiki but didn't find any Blu-Ray specific instructions.

Sorry if these are so basic.  Thanks in advance.

yep for a bluray project it is always going to be an iso file when preparing  so you'll have to burn to disc and copy that to your hard drive as far as i can tell.

Ah, I see.  So do I just create the checksum file for the folder with the big video files in it, and then save it to the parent folder (leaving all the other folders intact)?

Would ISOBuster work for this purpose?  Seems like a waste of media to me...

You can actually use WinRar to extract the .iso to your HD, then treat the files as you wish. This is what I do when I need to Torrent a BR creation.
