Hello,
I search for a simple good lav, in order to record with my videocam some interviews for my blog, in quiet environments, wired...
From my European market I selected two good budget choices, both cardioid condenser:
- AKG CK 99 L - http://www.akg.com/CK99+L-931.html?pid=989
- Audio Technica AT831 - http://eu.audio-technica.com/en/products/product.asp?catID=2&subID=18&prodID=1932
- Audio Technica PRO 70 - http://eu.audio-technica.com/en/products/product.asp?catID=2&subID=18&prodID=740
Which is the best? Must to look at other lav?
I have a Mackie 402 VLZ 3 mixer, for phantom power and sound adjustments.
Thank you,

Personally i would choose the akg, I like the sound better. But that's my ear so that may not be your favorite. And I have never been and audio technica fan so it just my biased opinion. But will all honesty the akg looks very nice.

I've no complaints about any of my AT gear. The AT831s are known to be pretty good mics for price. Don't know much bout the AKG, but it looks decent as well. I would stay away from the PRO70 based on the specs.

Audio Technica ATR 3350: low budget but seems well appreciated. Came after the ATR 35S :

Superlux WO-518XLR. A little more expensive but can be phantom powered (P48) with your Mackie:

Site in Great Britain. Looks like you can use the powering unit with another mic ?
Both are omni mics, which is better IMO when you clip them on the chest: you don't "loose" the sound when the head moves right or left.
Hope this helps.

Thanks guys,
The omni's sound better (in my opinion) but the first option was the cardioid. Maybe I'm wrong... Must to read another versus opinions :) My guests will be persons without experience in speaking and is possible to move de head right and left...
In terms of omni's (low budget) I prefer the sound of AT803 http://www.thomann.de/gb/audiotechnica_at803b.htm and http://youtu.be/8uNBXIIh6s4?t=4m25s The price only for the lap (without power source) is 100$. AT 803 sound way better from ATR 3350.
*sorry for my bad english

We don't share the same idea of "low budget"... :)
Another advantage of omni mics is that they are not prone to proximity effect, as cardios are: listen the video on Youtube from 4:25 to 4:35. The guy leans his head twice to the microphone and the basses are emphasized twice: you may like it... or not! ???

After hours of research, I change my decision - I will buy the omni because my interviews rooms will be pretty quiet, and my guest don't have public speaking experience :)
In 100$ (low/medium budget :) ), I have better choices than AT803 cb? ("cb" mean 1.4 m cable unterminated and no power module)
Thanks everyone,
