I'm looking to downsample a live recording from 24/96 to 16/44 so I can share it in a CD quality file. I use Goldwave and have only just started recording in 24/96 quality. Any ideas? When I resample to 44100, the file is still 24 bit. Is there additional action I need to take?
Thanks

Not familiar with the program, so don't know if it is possible to do both steps at the same time (in most programs you can), but you downsampled from 96 kHz to 44.1 kHz, but you didn't dither from 24 bit to 16 bit.

Yes, next step is to perform a dither operation. Only perform them in the same batch (dither + resampling) if you can control the order or operations (which most programs can). Point being, dither should always be the very last processing step.

Thanks for the info. I would of never worked it out with my novice brain.
Thanks again.
