I just ordered a Sony pcm m10 and was wondering if anyone knew if I could power it with a USB battery through the USB input in the recorder? Thank you for your help

Nope, via internals or through the external DC jack only. However, there is no reason you shouldn't get at least 20-30 hours on a single pair of AAs.

Seriously, battery life is not an issue with the m10. It's more like freakishly awesome. I've recorded at least 10 shows, maybe more. And I listen to my tape through the m10 on the way home after the show. I might not have ever changed them, it was last year if I did. It's still showing full charge.

I get around 20 hours using 2300mah Energizer rechargeables and Members Mark Sams Club/Walmart alkalines
