This update of the TASCAM DV-RA1000HD is definitely not st >:D lth size, but it may indicate the direction in which TASCAM could be going for the successor to the DR-680: a DSD field recorder.

This the better playback unit IMO
USB Input (DSD files from a PC) and it supports 32bit 384khz playback
The Smaller units are about $850 the da-3000 is about $1k
