Where does one buy it? I'd like to secure my stand with something less gooey than duct tape!
-
probably any place you can buy pro/live audio gear. I've seen it at Guitar Center even.
-
And I don't want to carry these around either!
-
i got mine from markertek.

you can be just like Moke!
-
btw- gaffers still leaves a residue, i just find it easier to tear by hand and to get off my stuff at the end of the night
-
i think you can get it at hardware stores also...pretty sure the mcguckins in boulder has it, shit they have everything else!
-
McGuckins is the greatest store! Watch out though...dont think of shoplifting. They have eyes everywhere. Ask my old roomate!
-
I taped down with Duct before, got the sticky off with WD40... Melted the sticky goo to gooier goo that would wipe off...
"I know a thing or two about goo; she won't say, but I'll tell you..."

dude you're a poet. and you know it. +T
-
medicated goo?
-
But did you clean it from the carpet, flooring, handrail / other fixtures at the venue?
bottom line, be careful with tape.
Actually, no I didn't... It was the concrete floor at the Pour House... Good point, I'll ahve to watch for that in the future...
And I'm not a poet... Kim Gordon is...

gaffers tape - i get it at a pro photo store.
sandbags - i use ankle weights - they velcro to the legs of the stand and don't weigh too much in the bag.
-
I actually got my Gaffers tape from Third Eye Blind. When they came through UIUC, my boss (who managed the auditorium) stole a box from them. Neon orange and yellow, as well as black tape. Great stuff since it won't stick/leave residue on your cables, but sticks to everything else pretty well.
-
stole an entire box? doesn't seem right.
i too took up some paint. it was from the back wall of the sheridan opera house under the booth windows. taped up the core sounds because i'm too noisy to stealth. was using gaff spike tape so it was thinner, but still sticky, end of show paint came off with mics. moved to the brass rail after that.

I agree, not right. I didn't do the stealing, and didn't know until a week afterwards. At that point I didn't mind grabbing a couple rolls for myself.
If I'm going to hell anyway, might as well enjoy the ride...
