Title: Microtrack II wont lock to 96
Post by: jerryfreak on October 05, 2013, 01:48:25 AM
"No valid spdif input" message with both mytek 192 and ad2k. works fine with both units at 88.2. have 2 MT's, one with 1.07 FW and one with 1.04 FW. i can get the 1.04 to lock once in awhile if im persistent and get lucky. the other unit with newer firmware, no dice.

tried searching (among all the other MTII headaches) and couldnt find anything. anybody know any thing about it?

would prefer to use newer firmware to prevent lockup bug and stuff

I never experienced a problem syncing to my external a/d converter with spdif going into the Microtrack II.  I am presently using firmware v 1.07 and have no issues with that at all either.  I have recently switched over to using a new Tascam DR100 MKII which provides no major difference in the end product however the feature set of the recorder is far greater and has a better metering system which I enjoy using.

Only thing I can suggest is to make sure the pre is sending a signal before turning on the mt

Is this another version of the "AES as spdif" output - that causes weirdness with newer gear??? (the MT II might fit in that window)
