Title: Paranoid anal idiot computer question
Post by: Chanher on April 02, 2004, 02:45:41 AM
I realize this question may sound anal, so I'll keep it direct and brief.

Dad buys new Dell, win xp home blah blah. Nice enough to let me use his cable modem for all my audio downloading needs, just doesn't want me messing his new comp up. well he also has firewire, and I just got jb3. I try to install the software, I end up messing up during custom install (I did bare minimum) so I un-installed. still haven't re-installed but there's all these driver files (Cdrw32.dll, CdrMmc32.dll etc.) or something after I open the "Local Disk (C:)" icon in My Computer.  What are these? Can I safely delete them? are they even jb3 drivers or whatever?

if this question sounds too ridiculous just ignore it and let it fall away...

Those DLL's are from NTI CD Maker by NewTech Infosystems, Inc--I think, looking at google searches.

I wouldn't recommend deleteing anything in the root directory (C:\).  Any JB3 files would be in a folder called "Creative".

HTH,
Nick
