a while ago i picked up a handful of akg d310s from ebay (the price was right). these are vocal mics, kinda like the sm57 but if anything a little more rugged (and a touch brighter).
here is an image: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/AKG-D310S-VINTAGE-DYNAMIC-CARDIOID-MICROPHONE-WITH-ON-OFF-SWITCH-XLR-CONNECTOR-/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/z/jg8AAMXQTT9RvoZO/$T2eC16VHJF4FFkO6TqUnBRvoZNiJZQ~~60_35.JPG
i recently pressed one into use as a vocal mic. and found that at close vocals there is a noticeable amount of pop: there is no foam insert, just the metal grille.
what are my options? get a windscreen to fit over the mid? foam insert to fit inside? (would that even be recommended?)
