OK so at the moment I'm using SP-CMC-9 mics with the SP-SPSB-11 battery box and dont really like them to be honest... I'm not getting the results I was looking for.
Some guys in another thread I posted said they are not really "music" mics.
So can you recommend me any to get instead? I'll be keeping the battery box, just wanna get a new set of mics.
Looking to spend around £100 ($165)
I record "rock" bands mainly.. (Beady Eye, Stereophonics, BRMC etc... )
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Check the Church Audio Black Friday sale in the "Retail Space." You won't find better mics at that price point. A lot of people use CA-14 cards and omnis depending on where they're standing.

Cue up the standard response to this frequently asked question....
Church audio ca14 or ca11s or Audio Technica 853s...all of these pop up very frequently in the Yard Sale and will work great with the battery box you have

Always loved the CA-11's, but recently have been converted to the AT853's. Either set will give you great results, though.

CA11/CA14! I have owned and used both and always loved them!

I have the SP-CMC-8 cardioids and I'm very happy how they taped.
I don't mind your CMC-9 are worst..I think it's only a setting problem with your recorder.
I have also the CA-11 & CA-14, they are very good mics, but not better than SP.

I agree, the CMC8s (aka AT-943s) are the best sounding mics in my gear as of now (and I have 3 pairs of Church Audio mics - CA14s, CAFS, CA11s).
They are as cheap as CAs, and better looking :P
