Title: Levelator
Post by: phil_er_up on December 01, 2013, 07:48:50 AM
Hi all,

Was searching the web and came upon this free audio software called "Levelator". This looks interesting.

Has anyone used this?
Would you recommend it?

Thanks.

That actually seems useful if it really does so without harm.

Since designed for broadcast it may not really be suitable for music (it appears the dynamic range becomes significantly smaller) but it looks like it would be great for interviews (I may use it for that).

A few test runs should give some indication of the effects.  Some of what we deal with in recording music is not that different (loud crowd/quiet music, etc.) but I'd be a little skeptical a change as large as the one shown would seem transparent on a musical source.
