Title: Anyone know anyone with R2R who would want to transfer old Springsteen?
Post by: jsfrank on January 13, 2014, 02:18:39 PM
Got this e-mail this morning:

"Hi Jeff,

We unearthed some Springsteen shows from the mid-70's this weekend but they're on reel's....do you know anyone who can digitize them?

I've got everything but a RtR deck, never had a need..."

Are those actual masters, or just recordings taken from FM?  A lot of those classic mid-70's shows were broadcast and showed up later as bootlegs.

Speaking of ld, I had lost (stolen) all my oldSpringstten stuff, including a bunch of Steelmill.  You wouldn't happen to have any of that stuff would you?

I believe they were from WXRT.

Thank's Jeff for asking about this for me....Now that I"m looking at the tapes each one of the 3 has a few songs on it, and who knows what else.

These are from the Mid-70's,

Milwaukee 75 - Saint in the City, Detroit Medley and Quarter to Three
Roxy 75 (which may be from the show they released the Live LP from) - Rosalita
Palladium 76 - Thunder Road, We Gottaa get out of this Place, Born to Run, 10th Ave Freeze Out and Spirit in the Night

Tape appears to be in good shape...

Thanks, Lwood

I do this type of work for a living and would probably be able to find some spare time in the studio to transfer them.  What size reels are we talking about?  1/4"?  Pics would help identify what the format is, but regardless, I most likely have the proper playback decks in my arsenal.
