Title: Has anyone tried the nevaton mics handheld?
Post by: Xonic on February 02, 2014, 02:43:08 AM
Hi.
So, after a lot of research on good recorders with internal mics, I've decided to start hunting again for a decent stereo mic, so that I can put a Rycot blimp on it.
One that strikes my interest is the Nevaton MC48. It's a little heavy, though actually not that muchheavier than an NT4. Plus, I'm a big guy, in a pistol grip and suspension I don't think it'll be an issue.
My question is, has anyone ever tried the Nevatons handheld like this for a field recording traveling around style? I'm not thinking of strapping this to a camera or anything, just holding like a pistol in my hand and recording documentary style. The mics have gotten really positive reviews out there and for their price point, seem to be very well rated.
any thoughts? also, does anyone know how easily the capsules are adjusted and or bumped on the mc48? can I just leave them in my preferred configuration andnot worry?

Ed.

I should say just for clarity if anyone is confused, I'm looking at the nevaton stereo mics here.
