I have a chance to get a Sennheiser MKH 406 (XLR 48V Version) in very good condition for about 400-450€. I don't know this mic, the only thing I know that it was built after the MKH 405 in the 80is. So it is about 20-30 Years old.
If there are anyone who have good expierience this that model? I need a linear mic (used in ORTF Stereo) especially as OH or room mic for music like Jazz or Fusion...but also quieter stuff like solo piano or solo guitar. I like the warm but detailed sound of Oktava Joly Mod or AKG 460/CK61. Could I compared the sound this that kind of Micros??
Is this recommanded to buy for this price??
Thanks guys for your help!!!

The MKH 406 would be at least 30 years old as it was discontinued in 1984/5 when the MKH 40 came out.
It is a linear RF condenser mic. and the model prior to the MKH 40.
It's an excellent mic. if you can get one at a good price - it was probably about £300 when new.
