Does anyone know what "size" the jack is for powering the UA5. By size I mean is it any of these below. I have'nt got it yet so I have no way to check and want to order a battery for it.
4.0 x 2.1 mm (O.D. x I.D).
5.5 x 2.5 mm .
4.75 x 1.7 mm.
6.3 x 3.0 mm .
6.5 x 1.4 mm
I saw a 9.6v 4000mah online which is for a portable DVD player and these are the connections that come with it.
Thanks for the help.

If it helps it is an "M" size from RS. You may be able to look it up online.

i think i have the battery you are gonna buy:
Emerging Power EP-DVD-NM4500 9.6V 4,500mAh Rechargeable NiMH Battery Pack
if this is the one, it comes with a cable with multiple tips, each a different shape and size, none of which will work for the UA-5. the oade's made their own cord to connect the two, and i am not sure of the diamaters/shapes of each end. i do have a broken one though, PM me and i can send it to you. either you can fix that one and use it or take it to radio shack and they can most likely create a new one for you with the same connections. fwiw, you can find these batteries online now for about 80 bucks and i *think* they last for about 6 hours. i like mine. :D

Actually the one I'm looking at is 4000mah and comes with a charger for $35 or so. Thanks for ths info on the jacks, sounds like the same deal as the one I'm looking at. How many hours do you get?
