How long until I break these little mic clips!? :P
I can already tell - cable the mic first and then put it in the clip...too easy to strain those things.
Also - what is the cool mount/bar for these small mics?
My K&M bar will be ok for NOS - but wont work for anything else - and its a bit heavier than I like.

Welcome to Team 1280! I've got 2 sets of clips that have been used regularly for 2+ years (and who knows how long before that since I got them used) with no real issues. One clip isn't as snug as the other 3, but still holds well. Like you said, it's best to cable the mic and strap it to the pole before sliding the mic into the clip.
As far as mounting, my 1280s (I've also got 1290s that are the same size) came fixed to either end of a PVC pipe that can slide into a Shure A53 shock mount. It's a pretty versatile and simple DIY setup that should only run you about $30 if you don't already have a shock mount. I'll post a pic when I get home.
