Title: Mono To Stereo wiring - Does this sound nuts?
Post by: RMayberry on January 04, 2015, 07:41:12 PM
I have a camera that has a mono mic in(well I have to open it and remove the crappy internal mic 1st) then I will need to solder 2 leads from it to the new 1/8" female jack.
1 lead i believe is the sound l/r mix and the 2nd is the ground.

1st
- If I plug a mic that has an 1/8" stereo plug on it in to a mono jack will it just distort?

2nd
- can I just wire a female stereo input jack with only 2 wires such as a l/r lead and a ground?

Thanks,
Rick

the camera has an internal mic.
the internal mic wiring is mono.
Can I use the mono wiring to wire a stereo input wit 2 wires so I can plug a tiny plug in mic?
