Is this really gonna work? It doesn't mention WAVs or FLACs, so I am a bit weary. But it'd be nice if I could leave the computer in a different room and then broadcast my tunes to my receiver.

i have an old PC PIII 600 w/ a good bit of ram and an svideo out video card, wireless nic, and a maudio audiophile USB sound card. Everything was free except for the sound card. Wireless keyboard and mouse. Friends come over and think it is so cool they can check their e-mail on the television.

yeah, that is an option, but with the amount of bandwidth that the g networks transmit, there has to be a way to send it to the receiver and forget cds all together!!!! +T for the response

i think there are other alternatives - this was talked about on the digi-panic list a while back, and i seem to remember some FM-transmitter type of deals (900 mHz maybe?) that connect to the soundcard via analog miniplug and don't really interface with the computer at all.

here's one, there are probably others:

i read one review that said can work with winamp, \so i imagine it can work with SHN/FLAC/WAV...

i remember that discussion, but i have long since unsubscribed to that list. oh well, thanks for the suggestion and link. i really should probably call linksys and talk to a tech person to see what the capabilities of their devices are. that is what i want to use anyways. thanks again +T
