around $1000 price range. I should go with one that has more bass then high's, pretty healthy tweeter in the H4's

Outlaw is on the short list

thinking of avoiding tubes, could be integrated....

I know you said you do not want to go tubes but Tyler often showcase their speakers using tubes and Rogue is their preferred amp of choice. So, coming from the manufacturer that is a good endorsement.

For solid state I would go with Classe. Look at their ca100, 150, 101, or 151. Your preamp of choice may ultimately be more important than your amp choice.

Thanks, was thinking the pre may be tubes, rogue looks good for that option. Ty mentioned Krell for amp, I do like their amps. Going crazy reading reviews, and searching options. Coda for sale on ebay, but $$'s are limited. May just have to eat pbj's for a while and drop some coin.
Audiogon has been my main site for searching

Just remember, the sound of a krill varies greatly depending on the vintage and or model. However, that can be true for many brands that have been around for a while and have used several different designers and or owners. A Krell ksa50 or Ksa 100 iare the cats meow. But Krell also made some dogs too, their kst models.

Don't just drink from the well research and listen.

I have heard great things about the Rega Brio-R. Solid-state integrated that is in your price range.

There are 2 Krell ksa ' s that are posted over at audiogon. One is an 80 and the other is an 150, both are pure class A and are, arguably, the best design that came out of Krell during Dan ' s ownership.

jlykos re brio r its a good amp but shit - its rolled off on both ends giving a strong mid presence
if you like bass stay away from it -its not a smooth decay  due to roll off
a month ago after 2 years of it I swapped it out and put a spare class d dta-100 amp in
as a test listen and its still there-brio r can kiss my arse with its rolled sonics
anyone wants it throw me an offer.

the dta-100 has a warmer smoother sound than the brio-r and im using class d amp and am amazed at what it does
for 100 bucks that's what I recommend

giorgo apo Australia
