Title: Recommendations for BSC2 shock mount?
Post by: AdamHuston on April 08, 2015, 09:03:11 PM
Just bought Ryan's BSC1 active setup and am needing to find a shock mount for it.  I browsed thru B&H but I cannot make up my mind.  Don't wanna spend a ton but I also don't want something flimsy or cheap.  Thoughts?

I'm thinking maybe this one?  Does anyone know if this is 22mm?  I'm guessing that's what I will need for them.

I believe that any of the Schoeps mounting solutions in the Retail section will work with the BSC2's.
Busman was thinking when he made the collette "nipples" the same size as Schoeps!

That's only 20mm[a53m], so you'd need something bigger if the Busman's are 22mm! When I had my BSC2s, I only ran them in my Schoeps active bars[DINa/DIN/NOS/ORTF/etc] and used the Shure donut aka a53m to shock the active bar. I think you'd be better off doing that and shocking the whole setup[caps+collette's+screens], than trying to shock each capsule separately. Just less to deal with and break lol 8)

So yeah, Id grab one of those a53m you posted above and then an active bar or two and you'd be set for anything!

Thank, Bean.  That is where I was starting to think I was going to go with it.  I found some of the Schoeps active bars in the retail section and have sent an email in regards to getting a few of them.  I will order the Shure donut today.  New mic's arrived yesterday!  Can't wait to get everything together and run 4 channel Busmans.  Todd Snider is this week here but I doubt I'll have all my stuff by then.  My hope is by the James McMurty show at the end of the month!
