Title: A way to tell if you have 4.7k mod?
Post by: Chrisedge on April 28, 2015, 07:43:49 PM
I bought my Sound Professional Mics in 2001, and thought they came modified with the 4.7k mod. Is there a way to confirm that? (Visually or through some test?)

I don't know if they offered it back then....

Nope.  Darktrain's right.  I bought my SP-CMC-8 (AT-933/c) mics back in January 2003 and there was no such option at that point.  Odds are you don't if you bought them some 14 years ago.

Was just going to write the same thing.  I bought my AT933's in July of 2003 and they did not have it.  I did at least one stack tape back then where the mics couldn't handle it.

I am getting 1875 on my multimeter but not sure I am reading/setting it right.  (2000 setting on my ohm area, reads 002 when I touch the leads together)

Since they are terminated in a 1/8" mini, what are my options for fixing/upgrading the cables and adding a 4.7k mod?

So I should be on the look out for a nice set of AT853s with a mini XLR and the mod...my hyper caps would work on those?

Not that this will help, but can you tell if it's 3 wire from this?

SP started offering the mod...after Chris Church made his mod details public. Like 5-6 years ago.
