Title: What is metadata
Post by: airbladder on April 18, 2004, 10:50:40 AM
I have had many issues uplaoding to archive.  So I gave up for a few months and gave it another shot last night.  The show is uploaded but wont be processed until I enter its metadata?  What is this and how do I enter it?  Any help would be great.

Metadata on the archive is simply giving track names and other info about the files you upload.  It doesn't actually do anything to the files.

Metadata is data about data. When you process an upload, there should be a line of red text saying that the show won't be processed without metadata, and to "click here" to enter the metadata. Like John said, it's track names and other stuff; most of it is actually automated but you have to go through and make sure it's picked up correctly by quickly running through the form that pops up when you click on the metadata entry link. Takes 30 seconds at most...

Amazing what happens when you enter the keywords "metadata" and "archive" into the search engine:  :P
