Title: 2-wire / 3-wire powering
Post by: weroflu on August 18, 2015, 06:11:13 PM
I think I understand the pip powering scheme now, at least for 2-wire mics it makes sense.

Digging back in to my ke4 capsules, they work but I'm not sure why they work...

These are 3-wire capsules but I wired them according to the first schematic here...

http://www.epanorama.net/newepa/2010/06/01/microphone-connections/

Can you wire any 3-wire pip mic in either configuration?

the second epanorama schematic is the same as is recommended in the data sheet here

http://www.music.mcgill.ca/caml/lib/exe/fetch.php?media=equipment:ke_4_211_2_gb.pdf

Aside from phase is there any performance loss from using the first configuration with a 3-wire?

Thanks ( Jon :) )

Almost there...

I can crack these open and rewire them.

In the first schem the fet source is grounded though, then you said you don't want to ground it????
