Title: Aston microphones
Post by: admkrk on February 17, 2016, 02:21:35 AM
Has anyone tried these yet? There are only LDCs atm; Origin, fixed card and Spirit, omni, card, fig8. Low priced, $250-Origin, $400-Spirit. Reviews sound promising, but all center on Origin, or card pattern of Spirit, as far as I have seen. It is the omni/fig8 of Spirit that I am interested in.

Just worked with a group of artist Sunday night who say these Aston mics are the real deal.  One of em was a Nashville studio guy and saying these will be 2K mics in no time.

Yea, I do not remember seeing a bad review on them. If they had an omni model, I'd be temped to try them out in the field, or enough income to do the same with a pair of Spirits. At Spirit's price, and from the reviews, they be a good alternative to TLs, and their successor Thor.
