Just saw this mic pop up on sale at Sweetwater. Anyone had any experience?

Sounds pretty good. It is stage lip, though. So probably pretty optimal conditions.
The "perception" are AKGs lower-end and AFAIK Chinese-made line of mics. If you remember the old C1000/C3000 I'd assume they're more in line with that in terms of sound and quality control. The real question is how these compare at that price point, which I don't know.
Archive show does sound good -- as hoppedup said, also pretty optimal conditions and a pretty easy thing to record.

I'll have to give that listen when I get home (can't at work). I'm hoping at that price point that they would be better that a LD by someone like MXL.

MXL LD's can be modded to hell and back. Such as new main boards and capsules. Might want to look into that.
