Someone I've been giving CDs to has told me that everything I burn for him has a static sound regardless of where he plays them. ???
They sound fine on my system and in my car though.
I'm stumped. I thought EAC is supposed to do the best job for burning. I have been using TY Fujis exclusively.

Anyone? Bueller?

EAC is the best I've come across. With that said I have had misplaced samples without EAC letting me know. There is not much of an answer beyond saying it is not 100% when there is variables suc has scuffs and scratches on the source disk etc...
You problem could be stemming from the burning of the disk. Do you burn at 2x or 4x? Or do you do some crazy high speed?

I burn at 40x. Maybe that's the problem, but like I say they work fine at home and in my car. I tried one on the walkman type thing and ended up with static as well. It seems as though it doesn't start until the lens gets furthur out on the disc.

I personally feel that audio disks should not be burned above maybe 8x. I do 4x and 2 x for masters to go off to print and such. I think you may have found your problem.

i burn at 16x w/ great success on verbatim data life's

Sounds like possibly a burning issue not EAC. Especially if they sound fine on your computer BEFORE you burn them.
What processor speed/ram you got?

P4-2.4 768MB I think I'll slow the burn down and see what happens.
