These are external boxes rather than cards, but I've had no problems with my emi 2|6 or my Egosys U2A. Looking to get rid of the former if you're in the market (bought it as a replacement for the U2A when I thought it had gone bad, but it was some bad RAM).

egosys wavterminal2596

echo MIA
plus the one's mentioned above

Egosys seems to win customers easily. I love my waveterminal 2496, which has been discontinued to make way for the 192. fuckin' m1 abrams.

I have a echo mia card and love it. Very easy to install and playback is excellent! Runs for $200 and has a spdif break out cable for spdif in/out.

Gentlemen,
what is actually required of _additional software_ (preferably free :-)) in order to do successful transfers of digital data from a DAT player -> (SPDIF 16 bit @48 kHz) -> dio 2496?
The computer system is PC with W2k as OS.
As far as I can tell the M-Audio Delta dio 2496 installation went smooth (drivers loaded [datecode 2003], dio 2496 control panel seems to function). OS is aware of new hardware etc ...
Acoustica doesn't show the dio SPDIF stream as an input option.
CDwav says "not supportet" when selecting the Delta SPDIF as the source signal.
What gives?
What is the proper way(s) to actually read data from the dio 2496 SPDIF and store them to .wav files under Windows 2000?
Thanks!!
Mick

is your soundcard settings at 48k or 44.1k??
-
Thanks for helping!
Well, in the M-Audio Delta dio 2496 control panel I select the actual samplerate of the datastream thats coming in. So far that means 44.1 and 48 kHz (and in the future I'll want to import 2496 data via the S/PDIF port as well).
I am aware that I might be doing something wrong :-)
So my question is: Are others having success with using CDwav in this application (P4 1.7GHz PC under W2000) and if not, what program is recommended?
Thanks!

yah ive transfered using an audiophile (same card basically) going coax in and using cdwav. are you sure you are out of the monitor mixer and in just the spdif in?

Hi!
Well, knowing that other managed to get CDwave to work with dio 294.... I reinstalled dio 2496 drivers and went through all dio & CDwave settings etc....
IT WORKS!!
Thanks!!
