Title: Anyone Run Naiant X-R Mics?
Post by: gormenghast on July 27, 2016, 12:20:23 PM
Anyone run the Naiant X-R mics and if so, have you used the X-Y amplifier?  If not the X-Y, how do you power the mics?

I ran them as installed mics for a few years. I had the version with just the caps running into PFAs. Nice and compact, no bodies. For the price it's a very nice microphone. My Schoeps recordings from that same spot were better, but I mean, you'd kind of hope that'd be the case....

Same with acidjack, i have the versions with caps into his transformerless amplifier and remote amplifiers (i found that i dig the sound alot and splrged alittle on my second purchase).

I use them for classical recordings though and do not have the X-Y amplifier. Mine are powered by phantom 48 power.
