So I'm recording a charity show tomorrow night, and I'm planning on running SBD>DA-20 in addition to my regular rig. One of the guys that's playing wants to patch his Mbox into the SBD feed, and I was wondering where I should put the thing in the chain.
I imagine the analog front end is better in the Mbox, so I'm thinking I should put it before my deck. However, he'll probably be doing 24 bit stuff so I'd only be able to take an analog patch without truncating bits.
But, I'm the official archive guy for this gig, so should I tell him to eat it and get in line behind the Tascam?
Suggestions appreciated...

the MBox cant pass out a digital signal while recording.
give him the analog outs from the Tascami if he's doing 24bit. if 16bit, give him the sp/dif out of the Tascam

also, lets approach this from a different point of view- you are responsable for the archive of the show, he is not- you go first and no one goes in front of you just in case.

Yeah, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't passing up the opportunity to use a better piece of gear. I mean, if someone came up with an ad1k and d8, I wouldn't pass it up getting to use the ad1k instead of just the da20 because I had to be first in line.
I'll probably end up using the ADK tape mostly anyway, the board's going to be all vocals

totally :-) just giving you a diff way of looking at things.
