saw a blurb about this in mix, supposed to be shipping this summer...

slick!
looks nice!
looks real nice, hope its bit perfect, i might be picking one up if the price is right
i would hope it is bit perfect also, as i might pick one up too if it is
i dislike the vx pocket-esq dongle for digi/midi inputs/outputs though, but with that kind of a connecter on the other end i bet it is easy to have just a digi in/out dongle made like ian stone did with the vx pocket's
price says 249 euro which is about 300 USD MSRP. Doesn't sound to be too expensive, but not quite as low as the current crop of outboard soundcards. Interesting at least.
Are previous Terratec cards bit perfect? That may provide a hint as to whether this one will be.

the nice thing i think is that you can lock (screw) the 9pin connector onto the unit so it won't come undone - just like the ad1k/500....
i just want to be able to go 24/192.

that is a great thing i think becuase even though the vx kind of locks in place, it easily comes out with the factory dongle on there, its just to much stuff, but my mod vx cable is sweet
its nice that it comes as 9VDC, so it is portable!
i wonder if you need a special firewire like with Nuendo.
And if needed can it send and recieve a digital signal at the same time?

According to the Oades the EWX 24/96 is bit perfect. But what do they know ;)

It looks like one line of the dongle on this new card is digi-in and the other is digi-out. And the cable looks like plain old 6 pin firewire that comes with a 6>4 adapter since a lot of laptops have the 4 pin style.

Here's a review from Tom's Hardware.
http://www6.tomshardware.com/consumer/20040621/index.html
Looks promising as an affordable hq a/d converter w/ good stability(?) at 24/96+. About $250 from what I've seen.
now this would be use primarily as a laptop interface for 24/192, not an A/D?

you could use it as a a/d and interface for laptop.
dont know if it will operate standalone though(without laptop). . .
kewl.. this would be cheaper for me if I get this and a V2 rather then a V2>minme or MSBM1
