Ssia thanks!
use a Tascam DR-2D so not sure I can provide info. What does Nick say?
Dunno need to ask him.
Duh, m10 doesn't have a pad. But Nick says run at lo sens for loud rock.

The Mic Sens (ATT) switch on the back of the M10 only affects the Microphone Input. It has no when using the Line Input, which is the proper input to be using for loud rock with a fixed gain nbox.

baby nbox only powers the mics, has no gain at all and runs into the mic input
Any comments on m10 preamp quality? Does "mic in" run through same gain stage as "line in" anyway?

I like the Roland R-05 because it has more gain available, as far as quality they both sound good.
I ran the Baby NBox only once and noticed a lack of high end--not dramatic, but certainly there. It was easily fixed in post. So I sorta thought it was a feature, not a mistake.
Marc I know you have heard my EQ version of Roger Waters MK41>Baby NBox>M10. So I threw together a couple of songs totally un-edited for you to check out. I think the M10 does a pretty nice job.

Looking forward to running the baby nBox for the first time into an Oade modded M10, sometime this year. F you Omicron... :really_sucks:
Use mine with the Tascam DR-2D. Great stealth rig.
Sony M10 user here. I'm still using the same recorder for 13+ years. I've used it with every variant I've thrown at it. Preamps: Grace, Aerco, Oade, Sound Devices/Shure, Cooper, and Naiant. Mics: AKG, Nakamichi, Beyerdynamic, Audio Technica, DPA, and Schoeps. The Sony M10 has been always consistently good. Trusted. Yet, those are Line-In recordings. For Mic-in, I like the Edirol R-09HR when using a battery box out front. A little more fatter sound than Sony, Roland (R05), Tascam (DR1+DR2d), and Marantz (PMD620). I'm a Tascam and Marantz fan too. Just my ears/opinion.... lol
