ok, my team now owns a m248. In theory I believe this should be a good match. The amount of low end my u89s pick up is incredible, not really a disturbing amount, but enough to make me even think about running a roll-off (THE HORROR!). With that said, what do people who are familiar enough with the 248 think about running them with the LD in abundance in this forum (ADK and Neumann)?
-
I'd like to hear the combo for sure, if JC would ever leave his mountain retreat maybe I could talk him into it. Getting the lowend on the u89s under control can be a struggle ;D
I've never run a 248 but is the HF boost switchable? If not, can you apply less of the boost by applying less gain? The HF boost is the only thing that would concern me because the u89s can have a brighter high end.
there's my 2 cents!

well, by all means try it, but at Particle. 8)

When I used to tape back in DC, Madry ran a m248 (still might). I'm pretty sure the HF boost was a switchable option.

i think madry has a v3 these days. he might still have the 248, not sure. maybe it got burned up at the xmas jam along with his sla. ;)
-
boom?
-
boooooommmmmmm?
-
Large boom from what I understand. And if I'm not mistaken, Madry is a contractor for the Feds, hired to put in SLA computer backup power systems.
:hmmm:

:sonar: send me your m248 and i'll give you an opinion :sonar:
;D

ya his 248 went boom (along w/ his D8 was it) but was being sent in for repair. He runs P1>V3 and loves it. Yes the HF is switchable.

A couple of my non-taping buddies still think that was the funniest thing ever. We were right in front of him and I still did'nt see it.

The cloud that billowed out from our area was dark as hell. Mic tried to reenact that cloud using his pipe but couldn't come close ;D

So you remember that ;). At least my cloud smelled better. ;D

One second thought, it could have been from the rock that Natelsky was smoking...

...exactly what every fob situation should (not) look like ;D
-
that makes our moe/galactic fob scene look downright stealthy ;D
-
Your Galactic shit was like warm up calisthenics compared to Warren's 10 hour event. When you are going to endure a marathon like the Xmas Jam, you have to settle in and get comfy...
-
this year i will bring a blow up chair and some marshmallows for roasting over sla flames :P

Or you could be like Nate and just bring a blow up doll

or he could be like nate and like JBK and bring a blow-up doll and a sex swing.

I was so tired from no sleep the night before, and heavy duty hitting of Charles' vripmaster, that I didn't even notice anything until Madry was puttin' out the fire. By the end of the night, had to take a knee a few times, but made it.-
What a laid back fob situation. And real respectful crowd, other than a patcher yapping in my ear, and his girl spilling a giant sprite right in front of my bag. Hope I can hit the Jam again this year. ;D

I may fly down without my rig and just heckle...
