Title: Anyone run the AKG393s with the p-mod?
Post by: steve-o on May 09, 2004, 12:49:04 PM
So originally I was considering the V3 mod that's coming out in mid-June, only to be swayed into thinking about the p-mod (again).  I am interested in knowing how this combo sounds and if anyone's actually using it?  I did a forum search and got only got 393 > w-mod.  Any info or direction to someone who does have this would be great.  Thanks in advance.

Steve

i cant really think of anyone running 39x > v3....

i personally think it would a a good combo, but thats just my personal opinion, i like the 39x mics and the v3, so you cant go wrong putting them together imho

if you got the cash, get a V3, but if you have that kind of cash and want to change your sound, get different mics.

So the p mod isn't as common as I thought with the 300s?

I have that set-up.
I actually just bought a warm mod a few weeks ago, for different situations.  I Definately like the Pmod, but it does lack in the bottom end.  I think it is great in a Jazz setting, and would probably be just as promising in a Bluegrass setting.  The Warm mod seems to fit better in a Rock and Roll or Funk setting...at least to me.  I dont know what your music preference is, but i would consider that.
Ive pulled some sweet tapes with the Bluelines>Pmod.  Let me know if you want me to send ya some.
