Title: Problem with M-Audio 2496 digital out
Post by: Uncle Jimmy on May 11, 2004, 09:48:04 AM
Hi folks,

I was testing my new gear last night and wanted to pull a digital signal from me M-Audio 2496. I followed the routing instructions for the hardware connex and the patchbay to a "T". I am getting no output on either the optical or the coax digital outs. I updated the firware and still nothing.
I belive, over the last year, this is the first time i have ever tried to get a signal from the card, i only used it to transfer to my computer, never as a source.

Any help?

Thanks,
UJ

Toggle these options

Internal Xtal vs. S/Pdif in

coax vs. optical

consumer vs. professional

those are under the "hardware settings" and "spdif" tabs in the control panel.  Sometimes you need to toggle them for you to lock onto a signal. good luck

Thanx for the tip, but no dice. I did a bunch of stuff, including changing ports. Nothing seems to work. The thing is, I can see the light on the optical out, but in the mixer panel there are no levels for the S/PDIF out while the Master and the analog outs are showing something playing. (And i can hear it).

Any more suggestions would be great. I'm gong to try asking m-audio, also.
