Title: is there a SLA that will work for me?
Post by: sleepypedro on May 27, 2004, 12:51:30 PM
is there a single SLA cell that can power three devices simultaneously?

mp2 > mod SBM > d8

ACL is around the corner and i'd love to not have to deal with three dozen AA nimh cells!

provided such a beast exists, anyone know how long i could expect to power the three devices in the field?

thanks, this is a really dumb question i realize...

i used to power an mp2, adc-20 and d8 off of of a 12amp hour 6 volt sla. it ran at least 2 shows...

they all can do it, you just need to wire in 3 connectors.

thanks for the info.  being fairly clueless about wiring and electricity in general, how does one wire a third connector?

Are you using a ecocharge w/ fixed jacks or a home brew.

If you got homebrews you could just solder on 3 4pins .

If you got echocharges you could make a Y-splitter for one of the outputs.

If you try to run a splitter off of one tap then your fuse may not take the total current draw.
for my home brew, I have two taps comming off the batt w/ each having its own in-line fuse.
