I just found a pair for 250 shipped. Just curious what kind of shock mount to get.

a great option is always the AT 4010a's
-
easy enough! and they're inexpensive too!
-
ask and you shall receive my friend :-)
-
after looking at the akg page, it says that the max diameter for the mic is 33.5 mm. the at8410 says max that it can hold is 28.8. will this not stretch it out too much ???
-
i believe at one point i ran at8415's with my c1000s
one thing with the c1000s, isnt the diaphram internally shockmounted? so it reduces the need for an actual shockmount for the whole body?
-
Dunno if they fit but you could try super mounts, they are cheap ($6 ea?) Buy a bunch and have spares...
-
why dont you grab the pair of 4010as from the loaner program and find out for yourself? i think they'd work.
also, i don't think the c1000 diaphragm is internally shockmounted, and even if they are thats a pretty small shockmount. they aren't LD's

it looks like the 8415's are gonna be the way to go. and you can get replacement bands for about 2 bucks a piece.
a big thanks to everybody for your input and help.

Lee i run the 8410's w/ my 481's let me know when you get the C1000's and we can test em out.
-
i've tried using the 8410a's with c1000's they don't fit. and if you try to fit them, your liable to break the shock. i am sure the 8410's would work, the bands will stretch pretty well. I'd go that route. good luck man, peace.

very cool! they should be in by the end of the week. now all that's left is the UA5, stand, and cables! i am hoping to have everything in a couple of weeks. we'll see.

C1000s have internal shockmounts. i ran them for 2 years and never needed anything more than the nternal shockmounts + the rubbery clips they came with. i also think they are a bit heavy for rubber-band type shockmounts. i tried them in sabra-soms but felt they were more secure in the AKG clips.
save your money.

Yeah I'd stick with the internal shockmounts. Unless you plan on upgrading mics anytime soon and you'll need the shocks anyway...

thanks again folks!
