Hey, anyone trying to use a JB3 on a mac? I found this link to a driver for it on creative's website, but they pulled it. HOWEVER, this link still seems to work!!!
It's a plugin for iTunes
Grab it while you can!

i dont trust links that dont bring you to a web page and just have you start downloading. :lamer:
you can also get a driver at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/njb3tapers/
in the files section
here is what is says under that driver:
Mac OS X driver (USB only). Use at own risk, this is not supported by Creative anymore. I don't know if this works on 10.3.x.
good luck

Well it kinda works and it kinda doesn't. Will your JB3 show up in iTunes? Yes. But only over USB. And since the JB3 has USB1.1, it's slower than slow. And attempting to transfer a recording from the JB3 will fail 99% of the time.
I wish Creative would update their drivers...but I can use my PC in the meantime.

you can follow the thread over on www.nomadness.net

OK, I take back what I said. If you try to transfer a show with iTunes, it will fail 99% (if not 100%) of the time. However, dragging a track to the finder seems to work fine, albeit very slow. Finally I can ditch windows on my PC. ;D

I've used this driver and it works. Allows you to do some minor tweaking on the JB3 through iTunes. However, you can only use USB, it doesn't mount as a volume (like an iPod can), and you can't transfer or play songs/tracks within iTunes. You can drag the track from the iTunes window off to the Finder and it copies just fine. And you can change your start-up screen. That's about it.
Maybe some one will hack this... there's no way Creative or Apple are going to help.

i installed the driver on my mac using iTunes 3 and it works ok, but i can only get it to work to transfer mp3's from the jb3 to the mac and vice-versa by dragging to the finder or using "copy to computer"
i cant seem to get it to transfer my recordings that i made in wav format.
anyone able to tranfer wav's using this mac iTunes driver?
i am wondering if:
1) i should upgrade to iTunes 4 as the readme says is required; or
2) possibly try a recording that is 44.1kHz as the recordings i have made were all 48kHz
any thoughts other than dont use it on the mac! ::)

I use it all the time to transfer shows. Latest iTunes (what is it, 4.6 now?).
I simply select the show and drag it to the desktop. It doesn't show progress in iTunes but it works every time.

I have the latest iTunes and use it all the time as well. iTunes tries to show the progress... but fails miserably. Once the "transferring" message goes away, though, it's done. I've only recorded 44.1 and have had no troubles dragging from the iTunes window straight to the desktop.

i updated to iTunes v4.6 and now i can transfer the 44.1 and 48 wav's.
the non working progress bar thing suxs but it does transfer the files...yeah ;D

:) Tuesday night I did my first 48khz transfer without a hitch. If only we could use firewire...

tried this out for the first time the other night, worked fine. not even sure what version of itunes i'm on, but yeah that progress bar was all messed up. I just kept on clicking on the file in finder and saw that the file size was changing every time I clicked on it so I knew it was working.
good to know it works though!
